St Pete Times: Food Network Chef Lied About Credentials
The St Petersburg Times is reporting that Robert Irvine, the host of Food Network’s Dinner:Impossible has lied about his credentials and experience including claims that he has a degree from Leeds University and worked on Charles and Di’s wedding cake.
One scathing accusation:
Irvine’s bio on his own Web page lists a B.S. degree in food and nutrition from the University of Leeds.
True?
“That was a program set up through the Royal Navy,” Irvine said. Then he paused. “We don’t call it a bachelor’s of science.”
Sarah Spiller, a press officer at the University of Leeds: “We cannot find any connection in our records between Robert and the university.”

And TMZ is quoting a Food Network rep as saying:
“It’s unfortunate if Robert embellished the extent of his culinary experiences,” said a Food Network rep. “We are investigating the matter and taking the necessary steps to ensure the accuracy of all representations of Robert on Food Network and foodnetwork.com.”

To whom it concern, Robert show was awesome and I am sad to see him go, but as a viewer do you check the person out. I would like to know what would you do different the next time. I would like to know will foodnetwork, have more shows for kids. I wish Robert all the best and thank you for taken my comment. I will be looking forward to new shows. thank you ljacskon

I will sadly miss Chef Irvine. I doubt that I will watch Dinner Imposible again. Robert Irvine will be a hard act to follow. This opinion goes for my close friends and large family as well as my own household. He should have been repremanded not fired. His false statement could have been kept secret from the public or he could have been allowed to explain his actions to his fans and then let the fans vote on whether he stayed or had to go. Well, I wish him well and hope we have the pleasure of seeing him on T.V. in the future.
I just wanted to say that someone’s credentials should have no bearing on a performance they have provided on a food netowrk program…..I’ve been watching the new host of Dinner:Impossible and I’m sad to say that even tho’ his credentials may stack up the program now just down right “sucks’…he doesn’t have the passion or the innovation that Chef Irvine carried. I’m not saying that Chef Symon is a bad chef, I just don’t think this is his comfort zone, he’s not as exciting to watch and the challenges are mere challenges rather by name then by actual challenge, I think the Food Network should really consider how they chose to deal with someone’s false credentials. Just because Chef irvine added a few points to his score card doesn’t make him invalid, there are alot of great cok and chefs that may twist what they know or have done but it’s the over all performance that should matter and be judged!
I will only watch reruns with Irvine as the chef. I will not watch a Dinner Impossible without him on there. He IS the show. You food network people would be wise to bring Robert Irvine back.
He’s already back!
