MY PROJECT:
I teach in the same building I went to third grade in. My third grade year was our first year in that building; that was 45 years ago! This year we will be moving into a new building, and our Technology budget will be very limited. The addition of a NOW board will be such a blessing to all my students.

Today, students need the opportunity to use and be familiar with a wide variety of technologies. An interactive whiteboard is a fun learning tool that helps get students actively involved in the learning process during a lesson. Our class is made up of a wide range of learning levels. These kids come from a variety of backgrounds, but most are from low income homes where technology is not found. My students are so excited about learning, and several of my students are ADD or ADHD. It takes a great deal to keep their attention during a lesson. Studies show these children need to be actively involved in the learning process.

A NOW Interactive Whiteboard is portable and easy to use in any area of our room. We can use it for lessons in all subject areas. With the portable interactive whiteboard, my students will be able to manipulate numbers, words, and money. These are skills that they need to learn. With these hands-on activities, it will make the lessons more real to them. It will also make it more fun! It is essential that my current and future students obtain math, reading, and many other skills to be successful in life. The materials you are helping fund will play a large role in this process. With technology being such an important part of our educational process, we really need this NOW Interactive Board. State mandated testing seems to take all the FUN out of daily class time. The pressure to "teach" to the test is sometimes disheartening to third graders (and not very interesting.) Hopefully, with this NOW Board, we can broaden our horizons, spread our wings and LEARN in an interactive way! This will be a true blessing to our classroom....help us please! Show Less
