Hi,
Another place to find mollete's if they are still around is a little restaurant called, "La Lechonara". I am not sure of the spelling. They used to make the best mollete's, and I am trying to find a good recipe. I know that as a youngster in Key West, it was made of picadillo, with some kind of spices, stuffed in bread (Cuban and also another that we called, "coca's", again not sure of the spelling). The bread would have the ends cut and the inside taken out and stuffed with the picadillo, breaded and fried). "Coca's" are rolls that I think are made the same as Cuban bread. The rolls are about six inches long, and pointed on both ends. The ends like I said are cut, most of the inside taken out, stuffed w/picadillo, breaded and fried. If anyone finds a real recipe please email at dgelabert54@yahoo.com. Thank you ahead of time.

I'm sure that like a lot of things, times have changed and maybe the quality of Cuban bread in Tampa has gone down some or is harder to find, but there must be places that still serve what I believe to be "real" Cuban bread. Hey, I just did a search on Google and came up with this interesting blog about Tampa Cuban bread, which includes recipes for making your own! http://www.oo.com/kitchen-warfares-c...d-tampa-style/ [...]

BEWARE
Before ordering anything from Cook’s Illustrated/American Test Kitchens or using their “free website, do a Google search using “cook’s illustrated/american test kitchen scam”. There you will find a host of complaints outlining their illegal scheme of sending out unsolicited cookbooks. You can send them back post-free if unopened and marked “return to sender”. Of course, you still have the hassle of taking them to the Post Office and they will still invoice you and send you letters threatening your credit rating. WHAT A SCAM!

My husband and I are both native Floridian. He grew up in Tampa and goes crazy when he can't get his Cuban sandwich or toast. For years I've tried to make Cuban bread, but have been unsuccessful. I'm going to try your recipe, but I'll go out in the yard and get some palmetto leaves instead of the string. Thanks so much for the recipe!!!!

I got notified there was another response (1.13.2010) but the most recent is from 2009. (Maybe a SPAMMER perpetrated a "drive by.")

In any case, glad you all enjoyed my comments :D. As for discussing exercise - it should have definitely been made part of the original pyramid. Exercise keeps the metabolism performing at optimal levels, exercise keeps the heart healthy and as for women, resistance training is a must to keep the bones strong. Exercise also helps fight Father Time. ;)

We can't improve the health of our children if we don't reinforce the importance of exercise and conscious eating, both by word and deed.

I personally love all of Gordon Ramsays shows. I also love him as well, but that dose'nt mean I am in love with him. I just think he is a nice person. He does seem to get a bit carried away when training people, but I have seen shows that show the kind and also funny side of him. I do not think any of his shows should have been put on hold for any reason. Issues like the ones rumored about should be taken up between him and his wife...not the world....You hear of people doing that all the time.. Unlike Tiger Woods, I dont think Gordon has made a career out of cheating........hang in there Mrs Ramsay. You have a wonderful man. Don't let the public get to you, and I hope they put his shows back on the air.

                                               THANK YOU
